  2-501.11 Clean-up of Vomiting and Diarrheal Events. A FOOD ESTABLISHMENT shall have procedures for EMPLOYEES to follow when responding to vomiting or diarrheal events that involve the discharge of vomitus or fecal matter onto surfaces in the FOOD ESTABLISHMENT. The procedures shall address the specific actions EMPLOYEES must take to minimize the spread of contamination and the exposure of EMPLOYEES, consumers, FOOD, and surfaces to vomitus or fecal matter. Facility had access to 3 sanitizers during inspection. EPA reg no: 875-190, 1677-246, and Safety First hand sanitizer. Janitorial staff stated they use safety first hand sanitizer to clean up after vomit/fecal accidents. All three of these sanitizers are ineffective at killing the pathogen of concern; norovirus.

  5-103.11 (B) Hot water generation and distribution systems shall be sufficient to meet the peak hot water demands throughout the FOOD ESTABLISHMENT. Handwashing and food prep sink in convenience store were only able to reach 85F. Maintenance team stated the facility is large and the water has trouble reaching the area but they have ordered hot water boosters to go under the sink to heat water on demand.
