Adequate handwashing sinks, properly supplied and accessible
5-202.12 (A) A HANDWASHING SINK shall be equipped to provide water at a temperature of at least 38°C (100°F) through a mixing valve or combination faucet. Facility Kitchen within school cafeteria: observed the only handsink to not be producing any water when the hot water valve is turned on. PIC stated they school has not had hot water since the end of the Spring semester 2026 (last inspection Jan 2026). Measured the temperature of the handsink water, using the available cold valve, at 86F. PIC stated the water heater/boiler room repair has been approved but the school board is in the process of getting a contractor bid to perform the repair. Note: PIC stated staff are boiling water to use for the 3 compartment sink wash basin to ensure it is at least 110F as required.
