For pest control companies

Find food venues recently cited for pests.

Health inspectors write up restaurants and other food venues for live pests, droppings, gaps where pests get in and places they hide. CleanPlate puts those public citations into one list for each covered area, with each venue's name, address, inspection date and citation. Where the health department publishes the inspector's notes, those are included too. New York City doesn't publish them, so NYC reports have the citation only.

Know what they were cited for

Each listing has the inspection date and the citation, plus the inspector's notes when the health department publishes them.

Check before you call

Later inspections are shown when we have them. A later visit doesn't prove the problem was fixed, so confirm the need first.

What qualifies

Specific pest citations and observations are classified by their evidence. Entry gaps, harborage and control/documentation issues are included and labeled separately. Broad citations without narrative detail remain unspecified; generic sanitation and ambiguous pest evidence are excluded.

Findings the source marks as corrected on site, or that the inspector says were fixed during the visit, are left out. Some sources, including New York City, don't publish corrections, so their reports can include problems already fixed.

This is a prospecting aid based on public inspections. It doesn't confirm present infestations, current vendor status, business contacts or willingness to buy. Known latest closure results are excluded. Confirm current need and service fit before outreach.
