For plumbing companies

Find food venues recently cited for plumbing problems.

Health inspectors write up restaurants and other food venues for leaking pipes, clogged and slow drains, no hot water, broken sinks and toilets, and missing backflow devices. CleanPlate puts those public citations into one list for each covered area, with each venue's name, address, inspection date and the inspector's own words. Problems the source or the inspector marked as fixed during the visit are left out.

Know what they were cited for

Each listing has the inspection date and what the inspector wrote, so you know what the venue was cited for before you reach out.

Check before you call

Later inspections are shown when we have them. A later visit doesn't prove the problem was fixed, so confirm the need first.

What qualifies

Only the inspector's written observation is read, never a checklist title alone. Leaks, clogs, slow or backed up drains, missing hot water, and sinks, faucets or toilets out of order are counted. A missing vacuum breaker, backflow device or air gap is counted separately. Dispensers, signage, thawing practices, grease trap odors and door gaps aren't counted.

Findings the source marks as corrected on site, or that the inspector says were repaired during the visit, are left out. Some sources rarely record corrections, so a listed problem may already be fixed. Only areas whose sources publish inspector observations are offered.
