Routine inspection conducted at the facility due to a potential illness complaint. Complaint is UNVERIFED at this time, as investigation is still ongoing. During the time of inspection, the facility had been experiencing A/C issues, and they have repairs scheduled for Monday 7/6. Several leaks in the dining area and some in the kitchen (away from food preparation areas-mostly on the floor) were observed. Refrigeration units throughout the facility were holding cold time/temperature controlled for safety food items above 41 degrees F. Walk in cooler was holding at 55 degrees F., two main prep coolers were holding items 45-50 degrees F., small prep cooler were holding raw items at 42-43 degrees F., monster prep cooler was holding house-made dressings at 49 degrees F. The inspector advised the facility to discard all cold product kept in the units, and manager agreed to do so, after inventory is taken and the owner assesses the situation. The manager on-duty was working on contacting refrigeration repair companies to have service performed on the units. Due to the facility not having adequate mechanical refrigeration, the facility voluntarily closed, at the recommendation of the Scott County Health Department. The facility will contact the inspector when all units can maintain food at 41 degrees F. for a physical re-inspection prior to re-opening. Any questions can be sent to Raymond.Miller@scottcountyiowa.gov Follow-up will be completed on or after 7/11/2026 by Physical Recheck.
