Routine inspection conducted at the facility on 02/24/2026. The facility has a norovirus/bodily fluid cleanup procedure, employee illness reporting agreement policy, and a certified food protection manager. Items that require additional action: #16- Facility manager agrees to change out the sanitizer solution more often, as it loses concentration and potency. #22- Facility manager agrees to ensure that boba are kept under refrigeration to maintain 41 degrees F. or below. #33- Facility manager agrees to ensure boba is rinsed with cold water to aid in rapid cooling, and to place the boba loosely covered in the refrigerator. #36- Facility manager agrees to obtain a probe thermometer to use to measure temperatures of food product. #43- Facility manager agrees to no longer store in use utensils in standing ambient temperature water. Long-term corrective action: #22- Discussed with the manager that the boba they use is considered a time/temperature controlled for safety food, and that it is required to maintain temperatures below 41 degrees F. (unless it is in the process of cooking and cooling). Discussed options on how to achieve this, and potentially nesting small amounts on ice. Facility manager agrees to ensure they create a plan and to uphold the plan, as cold holding temperatures have been noted on previous reports. The health dept. will return for physical re-inspection on or after 03/06/2026. Any questions can be sent to Raymond.Miller@scottcountyiowa.gov Follow-up will be completed on or after 3/6/2026 by Physical Recheck.
