Routine inspection conducted at the facility on 11/19/2025 due to a non-illness complaint. Complaint is VERIFIED. Complainant shared concerns after they found a hair in their food. Manager on duty confirmed the complaint had occurred. during the time of inspection, members cooking and prepping food were wearing proper hair restraints. Item that requires additional action: #22- The facility manager agrees to contact refrigeration tech to have the unit below the sauté station serviced. The facility manager also manually adjusted the temperature dial on the both small units on the main cook line, and if those units cannot maintain foods below 41 degrees F. they will have those units serviced. Discussed using time as a control for safety for cold time/temperature controlled for safety items in the sauté unit drawer. Items located in this unit are used often and rarely get held past peak periods of service. Facility manager agrees to not carry any items over 6 hours (when they leave the walk in below 41 degrees F. and temperature is monitored), if they go past 70 degrees F., and will not hold any items in the unit overnight. The health dept. will follow-up on or after 11/22/2025. Any questions can be sent to Raymond.Miller@scottcountyiowa.gov Follow-up will be completed on or after 11/22/2025 by Physical Recheck.
